Nguyen Phuong Uyen: Vietnamese authorities have lied blatantly

After receiving the expulsion decision from HCM City University of Food Industry (HUFI), I feel concerned about issues of honor and dignity on my part.

I am afraid that my relationship with friends and people surroundings will deteriorate drastically because of the school’s administration propaganda by stating their reason to expel permanently is that I have violated the law of Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This decision clearly unveils their extremely arbitrary behavior of the government toward me, a young dissident.

I have read many documents relating to the states’ regulations, but there is no provision compelling students to be expelled from school in such manner. Furthermore, not only I did not violate any law; but also I have been a victim of human rights violation when I was imposed by a preposterous charge of “anti-state propaganda”.

Actually, on September 26, 2013, at the local police station the authorities of many levels had said to me that they will favorably facilitate so that I can continue my uncompleted study in the university. Their today expulsion decision is contrary to their words completely. This clearly demonstrated that the Vietnamese authorities have lied blatantly.

RECTOR of

Pursuant to the decision number 2363 QD of May 7, 2010 of the Minister of Industry and Trade with regard to the issuance of the regulations for organization and activities of The University of Food Industry, Ho Chi Minh City;

Pursuant to the regulations regarding major formal technical and professional university and high school students (decision number 42/2007/QD-BGDDT of August 13, 2007 of the Ministry of Education and Training)

Pursuant to the regulations of the lawsuit number 838/2013/HSPT on August 16, 2013 of the Supreme People’s Court of Appeal in Ho Chi Minh City, received and apprised by the University of Food Industry, Ho Chi Minh City,

Pursuant to the official document number 6144/BGDDT-CTHSSV September 9, 2013 the Chief of the Department for High school and University Work Students – Ministry of Education and Training;

Based on the advice of the Bureau chief of The Political Affairs of the University and High school students,

DECISION: 

Article 1. Compel Nguyen Phuong Uyen to be expelled from school – former student of the University of Food Industry, Ho Chi Minh City MSSV: 3005100901, class 10 CDTP1, academic year 2010-2013, due to the violation of the law of Vietnam Socialist Republic.

Article 2. The decision is announced to the whole school and sent to the local where Nguyen Phuong Uyen resides.

Article 3. This decision is effective from the date of signing. The Office of  

The Bureau of The Political Affairs of the University and High school students, the office of Training, the office of KH-TC, the department of Food Industry and Nguyen Phuong Uyen are responsible to carry out this decision.

Recipients:

–          Local residence of Nguyen Phuong Uyen (to inform)

–          As in Article 3;
